What's inside of you

What's inside of you

Pollution is encroaching on our lives. Rapid economic development and the rise of consumerism is a double-edged sword. Our brilliant lifestyle is increasingly untenable for the environment. As our purchasing power increases, over-consumption had led to plastics and untreated garbage being dumped into the oceans. These become plastic particles and enter into our digestive and circulatory systems along with PM2.5 from industrial pollution.

Even though we may not be infected, our organs and circulatory system already harbors pollutants. Through an interactive installation, my work reveals the distance between us and environmental pollution, and warns us through irony of the hidden dangers these brightly-colored packages pose. They are the dark side of convenience and joy in our daily lives.
