Missing Memories Chronicle

Missing Memories Chronicle

I was inspired by the song “People Need No Freedom”, especially for the worries about my home country and the desire to explore political history in China. I’m particulary interested in modern Chinese history. During this period, people have undergone tremendous and dramatic changes in their psyche. In this unique era, till now, what are we going through?

Thus, I intend to describe our history in this project, more or less reflecting my attitude. Still, it is difficult to evaluate objectively from the perspective of posterity, so I decided to switch the new entry point and observe from the perspective of a lady who had experienced the period, through a series of “found objects” to reflect changes in society and people’s thinking. Responding to the “found objects” is the second part about me as a modern person’s reflection on history and the process of understanding our society. In this part, I hope to highlight some of the two elements, the story and timeline of the work through some painting decorations and series works.

This process is similar to the creation of novels and is an excellent carrier of narrative and metaphor. I hope to find my position through this work.
